Reiner Moll Geislingen / Steige 1947

Reiner Moll studied industrial design at the Graphic Design College (Fachhochschule für Gestaltung) in Schwäbisch Gmünd with Professor Karl Dittert.

Additionally he pursued an interest in sculpting with Professor Nuss.

In 1971 he founded the “Molldesign” Studio in Schwäbisch Gmünd, which he continues to run today with 12 employees.

His approach to design reflected both the traditions of the Ulm Graphic Design College (Hochschule für Gestaltung) and liberal art. As a result his designs form a synthesis between functional, utilitarian solutions and emotive components. He coined the term “strategic design” to describe his work. This means the overall integration of product-related parameters in the design process.

He has received numerous awards for his work in Germany and abroad. He is a member of the jury and CI commissions as well as a technical writer.

His clients have included such famous names as Philips/AEG Lichttechnik, Digital, Dornbracht, Erpo, Interstuhl, Keuco, König + Neurath, Leicht Küchen AG, Leifheit, Martin Stoll, Nokia, Pressalit, Sahm, Sauter, Soehnle, Telekom, T+A, Trumpf, Villeroy & Boch, Vorwerk, Waldner, Whirlpool/Bauknecht, Wolf and many more.

In 1991 the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen (North Rhine Westphalia Design Centre) elected Molldesign “Design-Team of the Year”.
